It's been a while...but we've been BUSY!

I haven't been good about updating our blog this year. It takes a good 6 weeks to get in the "swing" of things and believe me, I think we are getting on track!
Here are a few things that we've been working on lately.

We've been learning all about magnets during Science. We've been talking about how magnets attract through different objects, why they repel/attract, and just exploring how cool they are.

Do you like spiders? Mrs. Gault sure doesn't but we've been learning about facts and opinions so we created our own spiders that include both of these.

We've also been talking about dictionaries. They are so cool! We made dictionary monkeys that are holding delicious bananas that tell you what the pronunciation for the word is, part of speech, and picture of word. The monkey's hat has the word and his t-shirt displays the definition.

And our last picture for this post is one of my favorites! When learning about expanded form with place value, we create pizza slices and write down the value for each number, starting with the big number near the crust and ending with the small number for the smaller part of the piece of pizza. Our bellies really are "expanding" as we learn all about expanded form!
